Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston
As far as 17-year old Bristol Palin’s pregnancy goes, I might agree with Senator Obama that children of candidates are off the table for discussion except that both Governor Palin and Senator McCain have opposed funding sex education in schools and both favor teaching abstinence-only as the way for young people to avoid pregnancy. I could not resist pointing out just how well this method works.
Very well said. I hadn't heard about this, but another point for Obama for saying candidate's children are not topics for discussion. There are many reasons for it, not the least of which is that there are maybe some other slightly more important issues to talk about when you're a presidential candidate.
ReplyDeleteHi Peggy Sue -
ReplyDeleteI agree with Obama, and know he will do the honorable thing.
One of the appeals of Palin to women (according to some of them), is that she is just like them. They know the troubles that come with motherhood. They support and respect Palin's understanding and openness on this issue with her daughter's pregnancy. They know that their strong family and their faith will carry then through.
But I do have a question for all of these "open minded" women: What would you be saying if the pregnant 17 year old was Barack Obama's daughter?
Keep up the good work,
