Yesterday both Barack Obama and John McCain were interviewed by Reverend Rick Warren at Saddleback megachurch in California. Here is McCain on a women's right to choose.
McCain Against Women's Rights
Here is the deal breaker right here. The thought of McCain appointing Superior Court judges ought to send a horrifying chill down the spine of anyone who cares about women and women’s rights.
Obama Answers The Same Question
Hi Peggy Sue -
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, you'll notice who received the applause and whoops!
I believe in a woman's right to choose -- especially in extenuating circumstances.
Buddhists also believe that life begins at conception, and that abortion is killing. As such, it bears a karmic consequence -- for both the mother and the new life.
But rather than deny the right to choose, perhaps the compassionate thing to do is to recognize it as the taking of a life and conduct a funeral service. No fire & brimstone -- just a quiet, respectful service for the difficult choice just made.
Finally, I think it's hypocritical for the conservatives to deny a woman's right to choose, while at the same time denying expansion of the SCHIP program (as they have done recently), or other similar social and medical programs.
Keep up the good work!

Nalton
