Former French film star and life long environmentalist Brigitte Bardot has written an open letter to Governor Sarah Palin calling Palin "a disgrace to women". Says Bardot, "I hope you lose these elections because that would be a victory for the world". Bardot criticized Palin for supporting Arctic oil exploration in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge threatening sensitive species and for dismissing protection of Polar Bears. "This shows your total lack of responsibility, your inability to protect or simply respect animal life."
"By denying the responsibility of man in global warming, by advocating gun rights and making statements that are disconcertingly stupid, you are a disgrace to women and you alone represent a terrible threat, a true environmental catastrophe," wrote Bardot. In reference to Palin's quip about the difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull being lipstick, Bardot implored Palin not to compare herself to a dog. "I know them well and I can assure you that no pitbull, no dog, nor any other animal for that matter is as dangerous as you are," said Bardot

Hi Peggy Sue -
ReplyDeleteThanks for a reminder of the efforts that Bardot has undertaken.
These comments were made before the latest incendiary and hate mongering comments by Palin.
See the NY Times article by Frank Rich today. Chilling.
