Naomi Wolf continues to describe similarities between societies as they close down suggesting Governor Palin, not John McCain, as the heir to Rove/Cheney tactics. Says Wolf, "I believe the Rove-Cheney cabal is using Sarah Palin as a stalking horse, an Evita figure, to put a popular, populist face on the coming police state and be the talk show hostess for the end of elections as we know them." Wolf goes on to describe the heavy-handed police tactics including "pre-arrests" of members of the alternative press during the republican convention and the use of "agent provocateurs" in legitimizing a crackdown on protests.
Wolf describes ways in which modern technology gives more power to the police state than even the worst examples from history. "Make no mistake: Sarah "Evita" Palin is Rove and Cheney's cosmetic rebranding of their fascist push: she will help to establish a true and irreversible "fear society" in this once free once proud nation. For God's sake, do not let her; do not let them."
